The group is at the forefront of research on the origin and evolution of tumor cells, utilizing cutting-edge high-throughput single-cell sequencing technology and spatial sequencing technology. The research aims to answer critical questions about tumor initiation and evolution, with a specific focus on breast cancer. Successful candidates will have the chance to contribute to groundbreaking research that could shape the future of cancer treatment.

Research Focus

Wang Kaile’s research group has made significant strides in understanding the clonal evolution of tumor cells from primary to recurrent breast cancer. By developing high-throughput single-cell DNA sequencing technology, single-cell spatial location labeling methods, and various low-frequency mutation detection techniques, the team has provided critical insights into the genomic variation events associated with breast cancer recurrence.

Moving forward, the group will continue to investigate key questions such as:

  • How do somatic mutations lead to tumor occurrence?
  • What is the multi-omics characterization of tumor-initiating cells?
  • How do these cells interact with their microenvironment?
  • What is the relationship between aging and tumor development?

This research is pivotal in advancing our understanding of cancer and offers a unique opportunity for postdoctoral researchers to work on innovative projects with real-world impact.
